Job Description

The Firm’s Tax Group is led by the Global Head of Tax based in London. The Tax Group has three functional areas: Corporate Tax, Partner Tax and Transferee Tax. 

Head of Partner Award Accounting Team (PAAT) is a senior role within the Firm’s Tax Group.  We are looking to hire an experienced professional with a proven track record in managing accounting and compliance operations. This is an internal, non-client facing role to lead a Firm-wide team located in Gurgaon, comprising 12 team members.

PAAT is working on compensation accounting processes for over 1650 Partners based across the world.  The role for the required position includes the following:


Managing compensation accounting process for over 1650 Partners based in over 60 countries.  Includes adherence to monthly / quarterly and annual close processes, journal entries, computing monthly internal charges to local offices for all Partner compensation, etc.

Ensuring accurate and high quality output of the team during key bonus calculation cycles.  This involves calculating bonus amounts so that all compensation delivery adds to a total package amount, preparing documentation for the individual Partners showing the delivery components and coordinating with local payroll departments.

 Working in close coordination with other departments across globe for compensation related accruals and US-GAAP adjustments.  This includes determination of local office accounting charges for deferred compensation.

 GL reconciliation and accounting compliances.

 Supporting the external and internal audit process.

 Handling of databases across multiple platforms (e.g. Oracle, PAAS, MS-Access, Excel, etc).

 Working in close coordination with in-house tax experts and advisors for suitable compensation structuring and delivery options in various countries.

 Providing support for compensation projections for Partner and non-Partner transferees (~ 60 individuals per year), new hires and ad hoc situations.

 Team leadership, including people development, performance management and recruitment.

Other projects as assigned on a time to time basis.

The individual would primarily report into the Director of Partner Tax, based in London.
